Election Pledge to Help First Homebuyers

Posted on May 13, 2019

In the lead up to the federal election, both major parties have pledged to provide additional financial assistance to help first homebuyers into the market, with the announcement of the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme.

Announced yesterday by Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme will enable eligible first homebuyers, who have saved at least 5 percent deposit, to qualify for a loan without the requirement for lender’s mortgage insurance.

The scheme will help first homebuyers save around $10,000 by not having to pay lender’s mortgage insurance and will be capped at 10,000 loans per year.

This first homebuyer deposit guarantee is positive news for first homebuyers!
